If you’ve been fan of the 2D side-scrolling Shovel Knight, by Yacht Club Games, you have probably appreciated its graphical style. The game has been one of the best 2D platformers of recent years.
However, YouTuber Shesez recently teamed up with a Yacht Club Games developer for the latest episode of his popular “Boundary Break” series, where Shesez manipulates the camera to find out secrets and development tricks that are hidden to the player.

According to Yacht Club Games,
The engine was made for 3D games because it was made before Yacht Club had decided what type of game they were going to make, with the upshot that simply being able to rotate that camera can make identifying faults and debugging the game that much easier.
The programmer also explained that the the fact that Shovel Knight is built on a 3D engine allowed them to launch it across almost every platform. The game is available in Windows PC, Nintendo 3DS, Wii U, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
